“Storytelling has always been a way to exist for me. From an early age, I've been taking photographs, drawing comics, writing screenplays, books and poetry. For me, creating is a way to process and make sense of life.
Previous to working in the film industry, I was a professional dancer. My background in dance contributes to my interest in conveying emotion through film and movement. Further, dance training helped me cultivate a strong discipline while remaining in touch with my creativity.
Human emotion and psyche has always fascinated me and led to Minor studies in Psychology. I aim to create work that rings true and leaves its viewer affected in some way.“
Heini has worked in the industry for over six years. She has a MA Directing degree from Met Film School at Ealing Studios, London, as well as a Certificate of Achievement in Photography from Bellevue College, WA. Previous to directing Heini worked as an Assistant Director in advertising.
Heini is currently working between London and Helsinki.
